Hanes et al. (1994) cloned human ovarian follicle cDNAs encoding the novel serine/threonine kinase CLK3. This CLK3 isoform has 61% and 51% sequence identity with the CLK2 and CLK1 proteins, respectively.
NCBI Summary:
CLK3 encodes a serine/threonine type protein kinase with a non-conserved N-terminal domain. A long and short isoform (phclk3 and pclk3/152) result from alternative splicing and coexist in different tissues. Isoform phclk3/152 lacks the kinase domain.
General function
Enzyme, Transferase
Comment
The Clk3 dual-specificity protein kinase regulates the intranuclear distribution of SR proteins and influences pre-mRNA splicing in the nucleus (Duncan et al., 1998).
Cellular localization

Comment
Ovarian function
